What You Get for Your Money

When you book me to record your big day you can be assured that on the day, I will devote my entire attention to your wedding. I will only book one wedding per day so you’ll have a photographer for the whole day.

On the day of the wedding I will arrive at the Bride’s location at the pre-arranged time and spend a few hours with her, capturing those precious moments of preparation that are all too easy to forget. The smiles, the laughter and perhaps even a few tears.

If it is at all possible, then I will also spend some time with the Groom during his preparations, but if this isn’t possible then it’s off to the location of the ceremony, getting there in plenty of time to record the arrival of family and friends, I’ll also get some shots of the Groom, Best Man, Ushers, etc… before capturing the arrival of the Bride.

As mentioned earlier, I will have agreed the ground rules for the ceremony itself prior to the event as a balance has to be struck between the needs of the Bride and Groom, the officials and the photographer.  This day belongs to the Bride and Groom, not to the officials or the photographer!

After the ceremony I’ll take any formal (posed) shots that you require and then it’s off to the reception.

If there is a suitable gap in proceedings after the ceremony, either before or after the reception, it’s nice to have some time alone with the Bride and Groom.  This gives the couple a chance to express themselves in any way they want. I might make one or two suggestions in order to get the best out of the surroundings, but I certainly won’t direct things.

I’ll also stay for the evening reception, if there is one, and before I leave there’ll be one final check with the Bride and Groom just to make sure that I’ve got all the required shots.

Then it’s back to my digital darkroom where the hard work starts.
